Microsoft: Windows 11 monthly quality updates is the same Windows 10
Some time ago, Microsoft had adjusted the life cycle of its operating system, and the life cycle of the Windows 10 long-term service version was shortened to five years.
The upcoming Microsoft Office LTSC support cycle will also be five years, but the Windows Server series life cycle will still be the original ten years.
This week, Microsoft released a new support document to give a more detailed description of the Windows Server series. In the latest support document, Microsoft stated that starting from the Windows Server 2022 version, the server series operating system will only launch the LTSC long-term service version.
Of course, LTSC will not be added to the names of these versions. For example, Windows Server 2022 is a long-term service version with a support period of up to ten years.
In the future, all Windows Server server operating systems released by Microsoft will belong to the long-term service version, the support period will be ten years, and the rate of change will be slower.
Under normal circumstances, the change cycle of server operating systems is three years, so Microsoft will release new versions every three years and each version can be used for up to ten years.
